Stop Smoking Aids

Stop smoking aids can be wonderful tools for long time smokers who are desiring to quit. Many get a bad reputation for any number of reasons. The triggers to start people smoking are few but the triggers to assist people in quitting are plentiful. For instance, many people who are trying to stop smoking decide to use a specific stop smoking aid based on another person’s experience. Stop smoking message boards are littered with people asking the same questions, “Has anyone used The Patch?” or “My neighbor used Chantix and had a bad experience, has anyone else used it?”. It seems that in this current age of easy access to data, people are simply trying to get as much information on the quit experience as they can before truly committing to the attempt. Who can blame them? Arming yourself with as much quality information as possible, is key when trying to stop smoking.

Unfortunately, for the person wanting to quit, they are missing out on an important element which could define their outcome. But before we get to this, let’s look at some of the front-line stop smoking aids available.

The nicotine substituion therapies have been around for a long time and have been studied by the medical community rather intently. They are exactly what they sound like, nicotine replacement for the nicotine found in the cigarette. This type of therapy typically doubles your chances of quitting over quitting cold turkey. Some forms of nicotine replacement are over the counter, while others require a prescription. This obviously impacts the price quite a bit. Many people feel the price may be too expensive if their chances of success are only at 8%.

Zyban is an anti-depressant medication that was found to be effective in helping people quit smoking. It requires a prescription and close medical follow up, as all anti-depressant medications do. This has also been shown to double your success of quitting cigarettes over that of cold turkey alone.

Chantix is the newest kid on the block and seems to offer the greatest chance of success. It too is available only by prescription. It arrived with much fanfare, but has since received some bad press in the last few years over its potential side-effects. However, it does offer a potential success rate of around 20% which is by far the highest of the traditional front-line stop smoking aids.

So, what is the important element people miss out on when they make their selection of what method to use to help them quit smoking? They simply forget to consider that their smoking habit is their own. It is as individual as a fingerprint. Although, many people who smoke share similar triggers, as well as other facets of their smoking habit, the combination of the physiological addiction and behavioral cues are ultimately unique to that individual. This is why anyone who smokes, must match up their habits, personality, tendencies, habit and addiction to the stop smoking method that best suits that profile. Current success rates would be much higher for all stop smoking aids, if this simple step were followed.

There are very few resources available which can give you everything you need to beat nicotine addiction. But our smoking cessation website delivers. Here, you can read more about each stop smoking aid in detail and take an addiction quiz to find out which method may be right for you.

Just because your brother-in-law was unsuccessful by using nicotine replacement, doesn’t mean you will be too. Remember, the success rate for everyone who quits is 100%.

Tim Frymyer is a licensed respiratory therapist who is dedicated to keeping the public up-to-date on the latest in nicotine addiction.

Rita Movie Smoking

Rita Hayworth born May 14, 1919 as Margarita Carmen Cansino in Brooklyn New York. From the age of 3 and on she trained as a dancer and eventually under her uncle Angel Cansino at Carnegie Hall where other famous Hollywood luminaries, including James Cagney and Jean Harlow, received specialized training from Cansino himself. Hayworth’s rise to fame was a silver lining of the Great Depression. Hayworth had an awkward transition from teen nightclub dancer to  major movie star. She was a dancer first and foremost; acting was an afterthought seen as a way to earn a living.

At 17 she was dropped from the movie Ramona 1935 which was a big disappointment but did not give up so by 1941 she was one of the hottest pinup girls admired by millions of servicemen. Rita Hayworth was called the “Love Goddess”. (One biopic and one biography used the moniker in reference to her.) Despite being a sex symbol, due to her Spanish heritage[citation needed] of female decency she showed discretion. “Everybody else does nude scenes,” Hayworth said, “but I don’t. I never made nude movies. I didn’t have to do that. I danced. I was provocative, I guess, in some things. But I was not completely exposed.
For three consecutive years, starting in 1944, Rita Hayworth was named one of the top movie box office attractions in the world. In 1944, she made one of her best-known films, the Technicolor musical Cover Girl (1944), with Gene Kelly. The film established her as Columbia’s top star of the 1940s. Hayworth was adept in ballet, tap, ballroom, and Spanish routines. Cohn continued to effectively showcase Hayworth’s talents in Technicolor films: Tonight and Every Night (1945), with Lee Bowman, and Down to Earth (1947), with Larry Parks.

Although she was an enormous box office draw she also had some ups and downs with Columbia Pictures and Harry Cohn. Riat was suspended several times for refusing to appear in some movies. During this period in Hollywood actors did not get to choose their films as they do today; they also had salaries instead of a fixed amount per picture.) In 1945, Hayworth received notice of her suspension by her employers, Columbia Pictures, “on the day she entered the maternity hospital in Hollywood.
Hayworth was still upset with Columbia and its head Harry Cohn many years after her film career had ended and he was dead. “I used to have to punch a time clock at Columbia,” lamented Hayworth. “Every day of my life. That’s what it was like. I was under exclusive contract – like they owned me… He felt that he owned me… I think he had my dressing room bugged… He was very possessive of me as a person – he didn’t want me to go out with anybody, have any friends. No one can live that way. So I fought him … You want to know what I think of Harry Cohn? He was a monster.

Rita has great success on the big screen however her personal life was not so blazing. Married and divorced 5 times and having 2 daughters she struggled with alcohol throughout her life. “I remember as a child”, said her daughter, Yasmin Aga Khan, “that she had a drinking problem. She had difficulty coping with the ups and downs of the business…. As a child, I thought, ‘She has a drinking problem and she’s an alcoholic.’ That was very clear and I thought, ‘Well, there’s not much I can do. I can just, sort of, stand by and watch.’ It’s very difficult, seeing your mother, going through her emotional problems and drinking and then behaving in that manner. . . . Her condition became quite bad. It worsened and she did have an alcoholic breakdown and landed in the hospital. Rita Hayworth was an amazingly beautiful women who was loved by millions until she died on May 14, 1987, aged 68 from Alzheimer’s disease in her Manhattan apartment. A funeral service for Hayworth was held on May 19, 1987 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills. Pallbearers included actors Ricardo Montalbán, Glenn Ford, Don Ameche and choreographer Hermes Pan. She was interred in Holy Cross Cemetery, Culver City (location: Grotto, Lot 196, Grave 6 (right of main sidewalk, near the curb)). Her headstone includes the inscription: “To yesterday’s companionship and tomorrow’s reunion.” “Rita Hayworth was one of our country’s most beloved stars”, said President Ronald Reagan, who had been an actor at the same time as Hayworth and would himself fall victim to Alzheimer’s. “Glamorous and talented, she gave us many wonderful moments on stage and screen and delighted audiences from the time she was a young girl. In her later years, Rita became known for her struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Her courage and candor, and that of her family, were a great public service in bringing worldwide attention to a disease which we all hope will soon be cured. Nancy and I are saddened by Rita’s death. She was a friend who we will miss. We extend our deep sympathy to her family.

Johnny Carson Smoking

ohnny Carson’s famous Tonight Show in 1969 featuring Bob Hope, Dean Martin and George Globel. This was in the days before all the health regulations came into place because throughout the show Dean Martin is literally chain smoking and flicking is cigarette ashes onto George’s shoulder and then into his beer. Can you imagine anyone having a beer on a talk show today. Not sure the percentage of population that smoked in the 60′s and 70′s but it was widely accept as part of our culture and perhaps in many ways influenced many to take up the habit as they watched these very public figures puff away. It seemed so innocent as joked and laughed merrily. These men all worked together on many productions over the decades and were their own best audience as they often did stage shows while hosting one another. This was also when humor was at it’s best because it was clean and fun, now in saying that I’m sure in some of the smaller clubs the language was pretty colorful but still they enjoyed their craft and made all of us watching better by brightening our day. What really made these scenes so special is how they could crack each other up which made the audience laugh even more and that my friends is entertainment.

Yul Brynner Smoking

[affmage source="amazon" results="10"]Stop Smoking Hypnosis[/affmage]

After his lung cancer had progressed to the terminal stage, he taped a public service message urging others to quit smoking. At his request, the message was aired after his death, preceded by the announcement “Ladies and gentlemen, the late Yul Brynner.

Being a very heavy smoker for decades it’s doubtful that he would have lived long past the normal retirement age of 65. We’re talking about 3 to 5 packs of cigarettes daily and most likely unfiltered so he was getting the full nicotine effect.

Certainly I don’t think that many people could afford to smoke that many today so you might argue that price increases have had an effect on the amount that people smoke.

So who was Yul Brynner?  The son of Boris Bryner, a Swiss-Russian engineer and inventor, and Marousia Blagovidova, the daughter of a Russian doctor. He was born in their home town of Vladivostok on 11 July 1920, and named Yuli after his grandfather Jules Bryner. When Yuli’s father abandoned the family, his mother took him and his sister Vera to Harbin, Manchuria, where they attended a YMCA school. Although being sent to a an exclusive school to further his education he chose to skip out and become a musician playing guitar in nightclubs and being befriended by the Russian Gypsies who became  like family for him. By 1941 he had migrated to the U.S. to study acting and tour with Michael Chekhov’S theatrical troupe.

Although he portrayed a wide variety of roles from Egyptian Pharaohs to Western Gunfighters and a starring role in the “The 10 Commandments”  with Charlton Heston. We all know and remember Yul for his role in “The King and I” in 1956 and winning the Oscar for Best Actor. Having a full head of hair did not stop him from shaving his head for a starring role which had such impact he continued to keep it shaven the rest of his career.

When he developed lung cancer in the mid-1980s, he left a powerful public service announcement denouncing smoking as the cause, for broadcast after his death. The cancer and its complications, after a long illness, ended his life.

Nicotine in your Cigarette

If you have ever thought about quitting smoking then this is the video for you. Again blindness to our own demise because we cannot see damage created by our own addictive habits. With each cigarette one begins to understand how destructive every smoke is to our health. If is difficult sometimes to transmit this message when we see people like Charlie Sheen or Sean Penn who are famous celebrities smoking in public or their stage performances. This is as much about acceptance with your peers and still not thought of as all that negative. The negative outlook is a double edged sword because of government anti-smoking campaigns or legislation yet they make billions of dollars in tax revenue so I’m not sure they are so committed to having this a none smoking country.

U.S. President Barack Obama has finally kicked his smoking habit, first lady  Michelle Obama said on Tuesday as was stated on Feb 11 2011 presents the other side of the coin as he has not smoked in 9 months and is chewing some nicotine gum as a replacement. That’s will power by becoming a non smoker while having one of the highest profile jobs in the world and everyone knowing that you have said no to cigarettes. Its this important to our young people, I would say very much so because we need good examples to follow and this is an excellent one however the best example is not to smoke in the first place.

Everyone says yeah, yeah I know it’s not good for my health or wealth but what the heck it’s just one cigarette yet little do they realize what the cumulative damage that is occurring with long term addiction. A pack a day will add about 1 cup of tar to your lungs of a year so compile this with the amount of car exhaust we inhale just be driving to work or anyone who lives or has employment in a major city. Your lungs are like sponges and just soak up the tar so little by little you reduce your ability to breathe and don’t even know it. New research shows that smoking attacks a vital gene which protects the lung cells from cancer

These are some of the chemicals that are in cigarettes.

Do you really want to smoke!!

Nicotine is an active chemical substance present in tobacco that contributes for the negative reputation of tobacco. This chemical, when abused (through smoking or chewing) has harmful effects on the human body and it is also found to be as addictive as illegal drugs. The below are few harmful and addictive effects of nicotine on humans, later followed by long and short-term effects.

Harmful effects:
Tobacco harms every organ of the body. It affects lungs, heart, kidneys, digestive system, liver, eyes and many other vital organs in the body. Further, people who smoke tobacco get their sense of smell and taste weakened.

Also ‘passive smoking’ or ‘secondhand smoking’ harms non-smokers. The tobacco smoke contains harmful chemicals. When inhaled by non-smokers in the smoker’s proximity, it causes coughing, phlegm and decline in the functionality of the lungs. Studies show that it can cause heart diseases even among non-smokers who are subjected to secondhand smoking.

Addictive effects:
Nicotine is absorbed into the body when an individual smokes or chews tobacco. Nicotine causes elevation of mood. This is the principal reason for nicotine causing addiction. The nicotine absorbed by a smoker reaches the brain via blood. This leads to numerous chemical reactions in the brain and causes feeling of high. It lasts for short span. Once the nicotine level declines, there is no longer the high-feeling. To have similar feeling again, the smoker has to smoke again, thus it causes addiction.

Short-term effects of tobacco:
In the short-term, nicotine is found to cause high blood pressure, increased pulse rate and cough. The abuse of nicotine also has immediate effects on oral cavity which causes bad breath and staining of teeth. In severe cases, it may also lead to oral cancer.

• Bad breath: Smoking tobacco or chewing tobacco causes severe bad breath in the individual. Bad breath is because the nicotine, tar and other chemicals in tobacco get deposited in your oral cavity. The chemicals in tobacco drastically reduce the formation of saliva in your mouth, causing dry mouth, thus leading to the growth of odor causing bacteria.

• Stained teeth: When you smoke or chew tobacco, the chemicals like tar, nicotine and others burn and undergo chemical reaction producing sticky substances. When you take the smoke in by inhaling, the sticky substances in the smoke get deposited on your teeth and thus cause stains.

• Smoker’s cough: Coughing is a protective physiological mechanism in order to remove irritants from the body, especially from the respiratory tract. Smoking damages cilia, the protective structure in the respiratory tract. When Cilia becomes defunct, harmful particles like dust, the chemicals from tobacco, etc. are deposited in the respiratory tract. Over a period of time, the body removes the accumulation of these foreign substances by coughing. Thus, the smoker suffers from heavy cough.

• Increased heart rate and blood pressure: Nicotine causes increased heart rate and blood pressure. This is because nicotine reduces oxygen supply to the heart and thus makes it less functional. Further, it makes blood vessels narrow because of the formation of blood clots. It thus, causes increased workload on the heart; hence, there is increased heart rate. All these factors cause increased blood pressure.

Long-term effects:
Long-term effects of nicotine include addiction, increased risk of heart diseases, and decline in insulin levels, cancer and premature aging. Long-term effects of nicotine are very harmful and may also lead to fatalities in many cases.

Addiction and dependence: As the effect of nicotine on the body is temporary, to enhance the feeling the smoker gets addicted and dependent on the drug in the long-term. Further, the body develops tolerance to the chemical, and thus needs increased amount subsequently and thus perpetuates the intake causing addiction and dependence in the long-term.

Increased risk of heart diseases: There is increased risk of heart diseases in the long-term due to nicotine addiction. Nicotine causes narrowing down of the blood canals. It is because nicotine gets attached to its receptor proteins in the blood vessel and stays there and thus causes constriction of blood canals.

Also, in the long-term, nicotine damages the lining of blood vessels that leads to deposition of cholesterol in the blood vessels. This may ultimately lead to a heart attack.

Inhibits the release of insulin: Nicotine leads to reduction in the secretion of insulin that is essential in absorption of carbohydrates in the body. Normally, when the glucose level rises because of food intake, insulin comes to the rescue by reducing the glucose levels. In smokers, this is not the case; insulin is released in less quantity. When glucose levels are present in higher levels than required in blood, it may cause harm to the heart and kidneys.

May lead to cancer: Nicotine as a causative substance of cancer is debatable. The other chemicals in tobacco like tar containing cyanide, benzene, formaldehyde, etc. are said to cause cancer. These chemicals are released in the body when tar enters because of smoking, over a long period.

Premature aging:
Smokers look older than they actually are. This is because of the effect of nicotine on the production and functioning of antioxidants in the body – responsible for fighting free radicals in the body formed due to environmental pollution, stress, etc. Antioxidants make the skin and other soft tissues look young.

By all accounts, nicotine has destructive effects on every part of your body – be in the short or long-term. Hence, a strict warning indeed to non-smokers is to never experiment with it!

Tar in Cigarettes

Mike Atrix from Sydney Australia perform the inhale and no inhale Kleenex test with a cigarette.

We all know that there is a large amount of tar in a cigarette and how it coats up your lungs but in this test Mike show clearly what it looks like.

Just holding a mouthful of smoke and blowing it through the tissue shows and fairly dark ring from the tar and when he fully inhales a lungful of smoke then blows through another spot there is a very small amount of tar on the tissue showing.

As this was performed several times there is a clear pattern of heavy tar smoke on the Kleenex from having not inhaled the cigarette smoke.

This may not impact a committed smoker but for a young person it might make a difference in their decision. Little was know for many years or was confidential on how nicotine was the addicting ingredient in cigarettes. Only by risking his life did one man an ex-employee of one of the major tobacco companies come out with evidence that they had been adjusting the levels of nicotine to increase the addiction factor.

I’m sure every smoker has talked about quitting at some time and complained about how bad it is but somehow we all need to see the final results in another persons health to move in the direction of not smoking. Perhaps you have tried a smokeless cigarette to relieve the cravings but in a while the desire to puff on another one overtakes you and out pops the pack and lighter. There is no denying that it takes some if not a great deal of will power however what if you could learn some new techniques in relieving those cravings to light one up. We all need support but certain situations are absolute triggers for a smokers so learning how to prepare yourself or avoid those situations is key to reduction and gaining control of those desires. After all smoking cessation is the ultimate goal and one of the unknown prizes is the emotional freedom associated from quitting which is a real high in itself. If  you are serious about quitting then you need to try this product. Stop Smoking with EFT.

How to Stop Smoking Part 2: Stop Smoking Tools to Help you Succeed!

You can stop smoking! Welcome back to your detailed quit smoking plan, and congratulations on your decision to stop smoking. If you are seeing the second part of this series without having seen the first, you may want to find it.

Full Day 1

Since you were able to excrete most of the nicotine in your body already, your physical craving is significantly less severe than it would have been if you had smoked right before having gone to bed. Your actual ‘habit’ of smoking in the morning, though, is another story. You may find yourself reaching for cigarettes automatically only to remember that this is the first day of the rest of your life not smoking!

If it’s a weekend and you have no prior commitments: Lethargy is a common symptom when you first quit smoking. Feel free to stay in bed! If you really have nothing to do, you’re just begging for self destructive idle time, anyway. You have the right to baby yourself when you’re sick, and to stop smoking is to deal with a life threatening illness from which you owe it to yourself to claim your freedom! If it’s within your power in the first 24-48 hours, take time to recover!

If you have to go to work: In your process of telling your co-workers of your plans to quit smoking you will have been able to identify the non-smokers who are encouraging you to stop smoking for good. Find them at breaks and lunch, and adopt their non-smoking habits. When break time comes, keep your affirmations strong by changing – yet still acknowledging – the proclamation your desire to have a cigarette. Say out loud, “I am having a temporary craving that will pass;” or something along those lines…Never, “I want a cigarette,” or “I need to smoke,” or any other self defeating affirmation.

Your stress level (obviously) is likely to be high on your first day after you stop smoking, so try to be extra mindful of the way you interact with those around you.

Around the hour you quit on the previous day, you can expect the corresponding time frame to deliver you a serious rush of anxiety and tension. This could only last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, but the most likely scenario is that it may continue for a couple days. It will pass! You do not have to smoke. Taking measures with a natural stop smoking treatment,  or another smoking cessation aid will help make these symptoms much less severe.

Beware: If you smoke at this critical juncture, you could lose all willingness to even try to quit smoking for weeks, months, or even years! The disease of nicotine is cunning, baffling, and powerful; and it will go to great lengths to prevent you from giving up tobacco. If you’ve made it this far, hold on; because it WILL get easier.

During your normal every day actions during which you used to smoke like drinking, talking on the telephone, or flipping through channels with the remote; start using your ex-smoking hand for these activities so it’s not sitting there doing nothing while your other hand is completing all the work. This may sound insignificant, but it’s actually a quite effective tool in the battle against smoking addiction.

Day 2

Argh! (No, seriously) You are all but guaranteed to be going crazy with fiend for a cigarette. While the actual cravings don’t last long, your nerves are going through a restoration process that is a natural part of nicotine withdrawals; which means that – even when you’re not wanting to smoke necessarily – you are just in a state of discontentment and aggravation because of the discomfort and shortness of temper caused by the depletion of dopamine, endorphins and other naturally produced chemicals that smoking took over for your body.

Your brain, nerves, lungs, and every other organ in your body that was affected by smoking (there are many) are all learning – just as you are – to adjust to life without cigarettes. They will heal, but the process is not comfortable. Do not let it be your reason to give in. You can stop smoking!

Day 3

Generally, the feelings of anxiety are still somewhat strong, and they may or may not be starting to disappear. Hopefully, you are still carrying around your list of your reasons not to smoke to which you need to refer every time you are thinking about lending the power back to your nicotine addiction. You are at the most stressful part of your journey, and everything will start to get easier from here, so stay strong and don’t give up!

Day 4

Finally, things are starting to return to normal. Your body will begin to regulate its production of vital mood stabilizing chemicals that it once produced all on its own before nicotine interrupted the process, and your coping abilities should be starting to bear a more civilized nature. Your appetite will be out of control. Allow yourself to indulge, but don’t go overboard and remember about the healthful snacking!

Day 5

Personally, this day for me has historically been rough. It’s a type of comfort zone in which you are in grave danger of relapse. Do not mosey on over to a smoking co-worker or make a sly plan in the morning to meet up with a friend who smokes for lunch or another affair, either! Again…Cunning, baffling, and powerful! Don’t let your disease fool you!

Day 6

Hopefully, at this point of the game you are adjusting nicely to life without cigarettes. Your senses have possibly returned to a degree you hadn’t even realized was possible; and your lungs are definitely feeling better. Your cough, however, may have been getting increasingly worse at this point. That’s normal, and it could last for the next few weeks. You may be able to minimize the side effects with a homeopathic stop smoking treatment.

Day 7

Congratulations! This is a huge milestone in your journey! Today is the day that your brain finishes the process of creating new habits! Everything you do will get easier and easier from here on out! You’re not out of the woods, yet, though, because your disease is still at work trying to convince you to start smoking again. Be aware of its attempts throughout the day to convince you that you can have just one cigarette or even one drag…You can’t!

Even if you are able to stop with one drag or one smoke the first time, that will give you permission for the next time; then that will give you permission to smoke again until you’ve increased your level of smoking to that which is just a bit more cigarettes in a day than you were smoking before you quit. Some of the tricks your smoking addiction will try to play on you include:

Going to the smoking section at work

Making plans with a friend or family member who smokes

Engaging in behaviors that are conducive to smoking (going to bars, drinking excessively, etc.)

Encouraging you to stop a complete stranger you see smoking outside as you’re leaving the supermarket or eating establishment to ask for a cigarette.

2nd Week

Stay vigilant in your guard against your disease, and start enjoying life without smoking. You will quickly realize how much money you’re saving. Many smokers like to reward themselves with a teeth whitening kit or a special shopping spree with the money they are no longer spending on cigarettes. You deserve it! You’ve accomplished something very difficult that will undoubtedly add years onto your life.

Remember that your nicotine addiction is a powerful disease that is always at work. It is in the back of your mind strength training and getting stronger behind your back. Stay aware of the dangers that await you around every corner. You are only one drag away from a relapse that could claim your life. You CAN quit smoking! Make the decision to stop smoking today!

You can stop smoking!  Smoking affects at least 40 million Americans, 25 million of whom are destined to die a horrible death if they do not conquer their addiction.  YOU CAN QUIT!!!! I know because I am a successful non-smoker.  I will help you every step of the way.  If you have questions or just need to chat when you have a craving, contact me or a non-smoker you trust to talk you through it.  217-816-8148

Latest Ways To Stop Smoking News

Smoking studs need to prick up their ears
Australia is a world leader in producing powerful advertising campaigns which very effectively spread the message about the health impacts of smoking. But there is one consequence that rarely makes it on to the radar: the impact below the belt for men.

Blokes and smokes: give it up or risk never getting it up
There’s one major health consequence of smoking that rarely makes it on to the radar in this country – and that’s the impact below the belt for men.

This was a win for common sense when the High Court of Australia handed the Federal Government a massive win against tobacco companies. It threw out a challenge by one particular cigarette company on August 15th, 2012 which brought the resistance to an end. It was a win for everyone who has tried to quit and failed and for future generations who may never take up the deadly habit.

Representatives of that company argued that its brand will face massive loss of value due to plain packaging. The tobacco companies generally market their brands through packet displays. The remnant of television and other media advertising in the past has stuck in smoker’s minds and their logos are, therefore, extremely valuable. They will no longer have the privilege of false advertising and selling their deadly ‘sticks’ without a health warning.

Newly manufactured packs had to have the plain packaging by October 1st while non-compliant packs were removed from shelves on December 1st. These moves have been hailed by health experts as a victory for public health and will hopefully put an end to the industry’s aggressive campaign and scare tactics.

It has been reported that watching the outcome of the Australian success are many countries including China, India, New Zealand and so forth where the deadly habit is out of control. The toxic weed apparently takes millions of lives a year and is costing a fortune in medical and hospital treatment for the victims, according to health professionals. In countries where medications are not freely available and where cigarette smoking starts at a very young age one hopes that they too will get the message.

It has long been known that smoking kills and that is now without a doubt. But it also causes misery in the form of obstreperous, whereby the toxins change bone making cells into bone destroyers. Many young people are, therefore, living with this time bomb as their brittle bones break easily.

The now ex-Attorney General of Australia, Nicola Roxon, who brought forth this legislation as Health Minister was honoured for her work in this by US’s largest anti-tobacco groups, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. It was recognised that her courage and strategic ability has greatly impressed its president, Matthew Myers, according to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald (18th August, 2012).

As the annual ”Global Champion” award was handed to her before 500 guests at a gala dinner” the acknowledgement for her actions is apparently widespread. This dinner followed her address at Georgetown University to politicians and health officials interested in how she accomplished it.

The effects are being noticed already. It has been reported that people think that the taste of the cigarettes they once enjoyed are now different and many have quit for that reason alone. Others are reporting that it has made them more aware of the danger of smoking and they are giving it up.

Australia also has laws banning the smoking of cigarettes in cars where children are riding. This has been in for some time and must also be making a difference. There are also laws that were started in the Australian Capital Territory banning smoking in public places including restaurants and bars. Special places are allocated outside shopping centers where those desperate for a smoke may do so. The price of continuing to smoke is horrendous.

Smoking is definitely carcinogenic, that is cancer causing. It is also bad for those who breathe in the smoke of others while people contract cancer and die from inhaled second-hand smoke. Doctors claim that children and unwitting bystanders should never be subjected to this.

The ongoing health care cost to the communities where smoking is not controlled is huge. Medical bills for sufferers are avoidable because the disease is preventable. There is also a sign of relief from those who are now free of the stink of smokers and their product and of the unnecessary risk to one’s health by being in their company.

Quit Smoking Allen Carr’s Easyway to Stop Smoking

Dianne Fisher from Allen Car’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking was a guest on Wake Up WA, talking about a logical, simple way to stop smoking forever. She brought special guest radio presenter “Millsy” to tell how the course had saved him after 30 years of smoking.
Video Rating: 4 / 5

Allen Carr (1934-2006) founded a business called ‘EasyWay’ based on his  own struggle to break his 100 a day habit. The success of his method led to the establishment of a network of ‘clinics’ in more than 30 countries around the world, which is surely the biggest global business dedicated to breaking addictions. This is a huge enterprise and has attracted a lot of attention… a quick web search in Yahoo for “Allen Carr” recently returned over ten million references. Go to any of the Allen Carr clinics and you may be helped to stop smoking by counseling and group sessions.

The ‘EasyWay’ method works by convincing you that you no longer need to smoke, that you’re not giving anything up by quitting and that it is easy to quit once you have decided you can. Allen Carr’s most useful analogy is that being a smoker is like wearing tight shoes all day, and that the pleasure derived from smoking a cigarette is like the relief of briefly taking off those tight shoes!

There is no doubt that the Allen Carr clinics have helped an enormous number of people, and indeed an enormous number of people have passed through their doors. He has some impressive celebrity endorsements including Richard Branson and Anthony Hopkins.

The  EasyWay business claims a high success rate, (over 95%!) which appears to be based on the number of people who, having done the courses, do not return to demand their money back. It is very hard to tell how many of the ones who don’t return have remained on the wagon and to judge the real success rate. This has been the topic of much discussion on such websites as “Wikipedia.” Allen Carr died in 2006 from lung cancer, but his business continues to expand, both geographically and in the scope of addictions they are prepared to treat.

Is it for you? There are many books including ‘The Only Way To Stop Smoking Permanently,’ Allen Carr’s Easyweigh To Lose Weight,’, ‘How To Stop Your Child Smoking,’ and ‘The Easy Way To Enjoy Flying.’ There are also videos, audio programs and CD-Roms. But the only book you really need is ‘Allen Carr’s Easy Way To Stop Smoking.’ This was the first, and most successful, of his books and contains all you need to know about the EasyWay method.

Stop Smoking Naturally | Find Out Which Natural Herbs Help you Quit Smoking and Why!

Stop smoking naturally and finally conquer your tobacco addiction. As hard as it is to quit smoking, you can stop smoking now and stay cigarette free for life! In order to beat your addiction you need the proper tools and treatment to help you successfully stop smoking. It’s imperative for you to understand that no matter how much control you exert over your physical addiction, if you are not placing an equal amount of attention on the emotional aspect of your cigarette smoking habit your chances for success will be very low.

Before we get into some of the natural stop smoking treatment ingredients and why they work to help you quit smoking, let’s identify some of the actions you can take to begin training your mind to become smoke free.

When you first stop smoking, you must be prepared to combat a STRONG mental urge to smoke. In the first 24 hours it seems that you are fighting an uphill battle that will never be won. Do NOT let your mind convince you that you can’t quit smoking! You CAN stop smoking! Be very mindful that – from day 1 – when you think you want a cigarette to tell yourself something along the lines of: I feel like I want a cigarette, and I don’t want to be a smoker so I can CHOOSE not to smoke.

Tip #1 – Rehydrate: When your desire is high and you are working hard to convince yourself that you don’t need to smoke, try drinking a tall glass of cold water or orange juice using the hand with which you used to smoke. The sipping of the water (or juice) will equate in your mind to the raising of your hand to your mouth as you did when you smoked. Using the hand with which you no longer have to smoke cigarettes will help your mind learn new associations with ‘break time.’

Tip #2 – Mind Power: Additional mind powering techniques will go a long way, too, such as envisioning the liquid providing a real healthful benefit to your body that cigarettes never could.

Tip # 3 – Reach Out: If none of this works for you, get on the phone! Call a person you trust (a non-smoker) to talk you through the addiction. Again…Use the hand with which you used to smoke to hold the phone while you talk. Feel free to pace if you have to.

Most smokers are only able to successfully stop smoking by combating both factors of their smoking addiction: Mental and physical. Here are some of the most effective active ingredients in homeopathic stop smoking treatments that help you stop smoking naturally.

Aconitum Napellus

Aconitum Napellus is also called Wolfsbane, and it is a perennial native mainly to the northern portion of the globe. In its purest form, Aconite is a hallucinogen with alkaloid properties that affect the body much like mushrooms or LSD. In its diluted form, however, there are a multitude of health promoting benefits such as pain relief, reduction of anxiety, decrease in chest pains caused by coughing, and insomnia. These are all physical symptoms of withdrawals from nicotine that take place when you stop smoking.

Avena Oat

Avena is a class of oats that has been long recognized as an effective cure for increased tension, hysteria, and withdrawal symptoms from opium addiction. Addiction to opium is much like addiction to nicotine. When you quit smoking your body is forced to re-establish its own ability to produce vital neurological chemicals that help provide physical and emotional stability. It is this state of ‘raw nervousness’ that makes it virtually impossible to quit smoking without a treatment to help you stop smoking naturally.

Black Spruce

Black Spruce is actually another name for Abies Nigra, which is also used as a homeopathic ingredient to minimize anxiety and restlessness. Additionally, this natural herb is known for its ability to relieve coughing. This is an important natural stop smoking medication because the first 4-6 weeks after you stop smoking your smoker’s cough will most likely get worse. Don’t worry, though; as uncomfortable as it is, it’s just your lungs performing a natural cleansing process that will help you significantly decrease your chances of acquiring an obstructive pulmonary disease such as chronic bronchitis or emphysema.

Nux Vomica

At first glance, this ingredient – like Aconite – seems like a natural herb with which you’d want no part of. It is a poisonous nut that carries many of the same physical properties as Aconitum Napellus with just as many healing properties when diluted for human consumption. The largest benefit to this ingredient in natural stop smoking treatments is that it helps control your appetite that is usually dangerously high when you stop smoking. It helps you keep your weight under control while you battle your tobacco addiction.
